Transformations

Three different collages all just messing around with different transformation, filter, and color changes

First sketch-up

Well, here's my first sketch. I think for most artists, hands can be really tricky to draw (they most certainly are for me), but even if you get em close to looking right it's always a good feeling and it can add a LOT to a drawing. So here's just a quick, basic, open-handed pose with a quick swirl design thrown in (still fudged it a bit, but hey it's good practice!)

couldn't pass this one up when i saw it. a really detailed pencil sketch with a lot of different images and shapes blended with one another, has a really good look to it. 2d graphics are what i hope to specialize in later on down the road so drawings like this have always been captivating to me.

Five minutes for one hundred years

I stumbled on to this little gem about a week ago.
It's a video depicting how visual effects in movies have changed over the past hundred years.
I'm posting the link to GIZMODO directly because the site offers some other cool visual effects videos and articles. Check it out!

Scenery, City, and Object oh my!

Alright, first assignment of the semester! So what we've got below here are three different images relating to three different themes; Scenery, City, and Object.

I chose this scenic image because of all the different landscapes Earth has to offer, I still find myself most fascinated when I watch the clouds. You can find this image at http://declubz.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2008/08/weird-clouds.jpg
I don't think that I've never NOT liked a boombox. I think the boombox first introduced real visual artistic design into how we listen to music. It's like the Grandpa of iPod's. Get this image here http://media.photobucket.com/image/boombox/vhsdifgsad/boombox.jpg
This is Pripryat. A ghost city where 50,000 people used to live. A person can draw so many ideas from the image of an entire city that's been standing still while the rest of the world has moved on. Look here for the image http://scrapetv.com/News/News%20Pages/Business/images-2/pripyat-ukraine.jpg

Hello!

For anyone looking at this blog!
A big hello and welcome to my first blog and first blog post! Really wasn't expecting that I'd be getting graded over a blog so I hope this all works out haha...
The name's Dustin Harvey and most of the stuff I'll be posting up here will be for my IFDM class, so from what I understand that means it'll be a lot of pictures and sketches.
Thanks for taking the time to check my blog out, hope you enjoy!
